Mission of the Foundation
With respect to the wishes of the Founders, as reflected in article 2 of the Statutes, the George & Marie Vergottis Foundation has the mission to keep alive the cultural identity of Kefalonia and to substantially strengthen education and social contribution on the island.
Foundation Activities
The George & Marie Vergottis Foundation organizes and hosts events of various kinds such as concerts, exhibitions, presentations, etc.
The George and Marie Vergottis Foundation offers sponsorships to Public and Charitable Foundations of Kefalonia, and in some exceptional cases, financially supports independent public benefit programs.
The Cultural Center has hosted a number of important events in the life of today’s Kefalonia, covering the entire spectrum of sectors included in the Foundation’s Statute.
The George & Marie Vergottis Foundation offers financial support to distinguished students of the Kefalonia Lyceums in the Panhellenic examinations.
Vergottis Cultural Center
The Vergottis Cultural Center is a performance center that hosts the majority of the Foundation’s activities. The building, 570 square meters and with a capacity of 280 people, is suitable for both music recitals and lectures and presentations within the framework of conferences.
