Little scientists, big secrets: discovering DNA

The George and Maris Vergottis Foundation is once again organising educational activities for children!
What is DNA? Where is it found? And can we actually see it with our own eyes?
At the Vergottis Cultural Centre in Kourkoumelata, on Saturday 8 August, children and teenagers aged 5 to 15 will have the chance to become little scientists for a while and discover the “big secrets” of life through play, simple stories and an impressive experiment.
In a clear and entertaining way, the children will find out what DNA is, why it makes us unique and how it connects us to all living things.
In the hands-on part of the activity, we will observe cells under a microscope and extract DNA from strawberries using simple materials found at home.
An experiential science activity for children, full of curiosity, observation and discovery.
We play, we learn, we experiment!
