The Founders' wishes as expressed in Article 2 of the Foundation's Charter state that the objective of the Foundation is the:

1)  study and promotion of issues related to Kefalonian and/or more broadly to Ionian History, Archaeology, Folklore, Art, Economy, Environment, Geology, Seismology, Medicine and Shipping, at the Vergottis Cultural Center in Kourkoumelata, Kefalonia;

2)  financial assistance to distinguished students from Kefalonia;

3)  financial support to charitable organisations of Kefalonia and other activities of social benefit.
